Sixt Rental

Post by Lambocar » Mon Jul 13, 2020 3:43 am

Sixt advertise to be one of the leading car rental companies in the world. Founded already in 1912 Sixt have an experience of more than 100 years. They say also that Sixt rental was the first with a website. I don`t know if this is really true and it can`t be proven easily. But a fact is that Sixt actually have over 2,200 locations in more than 105 countries. This means that you can find Sixt rental services in most of the major cities worldwide. They are present of course at the big airports in US and also at train stations, city centers and hotels. From my point of view they are not yet very well known is US. I`ve not yet rented any car from them. Therefore my request about your thoughts in terms of Sixt rental and probably your experiences.

Sixt is a rental company with a good reputation. The want to be a premium provider. The only disadvantage which I see at the moment is that the Sixt network is not very dense. They have locations at all big cities and there mostly at the airports. They try to expand the network and open one location after the other in US. But they are still far away of the big ones in this business. The cars they offer in the rental fleet are nice and always pretty new. The rental rates are more at the higher end.

I would like to confirm that the network of Sixt rental is far away of being mature. As an example in California they offer locations at Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego only. There is still lot of room for improvement. But somewhere I`ve read that Sixt is working hard to open additional locations.

News from Sixt are that they have acquired ten airport locations from the company Advantage Rent a Car. The seller is actually bankrupt. This aquisition is part of the Sixt strategy to expand quickly in US. Now with this purchase Sixt rental is represented at almost all major transport hubs in the US. Btw the deal was approved by the Delaware Bankruptcy Court on 1 July, 2020.

These are good news @Ckecker. It`s really overdue that Sixt increase the number of locations. for me Sixt is an interesting rental company which has high potential here in US. I think the market welcomes this competition.

Thank you for this beautiful BMW from Sixt @ESPoff . This is for me a typical car which you can get from Sixt. Usually the cars are in brand new condition and includes lots of expensive optional equipment. It`s great to learn that the station network is in process to be expanded here in US. I was also a little missing further locations. Good news. :D

The BMW 330i is a beautiful car which is typically for Sixt. I've already driven a BMW 3series type based on a Premium Mystery Car booking from Sixt. It was a great experience and the first time I had a rental from Sixt. Price was absolutely competitive. I'll come back to Sixt for sure.
