I experienced also a lack of maintenance with a Chevrolet Tahoe from Avis last year. :(

Avis definitely needs to improve maintenance even the tires on my wrangler are worn the car i was originally supposed to rent which is a Dodge Grand Caravan was down because of a check engine light. It was 1 in the morning when i picked this up and i was super tired

Worn tires, a no-go for me!
Ok, 1 in the morning makes any discussions very difficult......

Exactly at that time there are not any discussions but i did discuss with the clerk to see if i could take one of the minivans on the lot and she said no they’re all down for a check engine light.

Don`t think that a lack of maintenance is normal practice at Avis. Usually all rental cars are well maintained. Also those from Avis.

I was surprised avis allowed this wrangler to be rented out with it needing an oil change new tires and new brakes and it had a weird noise coming from the rear end most of the cars on the lot were not being rented out due to a check engine light not to mention this wrangler also had been a smoker once in its life i was clearly able to smell the smoke
