SUV Rental Recommendations

Post by Leroy000 » Fri Jun 05, 2020 3:50 am

Hello!

As a newbie I`d like to ask for recommendations where I should rent from your point of view a SUV? Where do I get the best cars with low mileage on the odometer? Where do I get the best rental rates and the best conditions? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. :D

It´s always the question whether you look for a specific model, size or rental rate only. Also you have to take into account whether you need any service from the car rental company or you organize anything by yourselves like insurances etc. ;)

I would go to Sixt. they are of course not the cheapest ones but they offer the newest models with very few miles on the odometer. I prefer the new cars. :D

It also depends on which model you are looking for @Leroy000. If you want to get an US SUV then you have a good selection at car rental company like Alamo, National and also Budget. If you want to get a german manufactured SUV like the BMW X series or the Mercedes GLS class I recommend to go to Sixt or Enterprise Exotic.

I`m not in favour of Sixt. They advertise being premium but they have not yet convinced me. Made one rental with them and didn`t get unlimited miles which finally made the rental an expensive exercise. :(

What I like is the Ford Expedition. A very comfortable SUV with a lot of space. I don`t know whether the Explorer is available as a rental car.

The Ford Expedition is of course available as a rental car. You`ll find it at Alamo in the category Fullsize SUV together with the Chevy Tahoe. This pretty nice SUV is also available from Sixt and Avis. ;)

Yes, correct, the Ford Explorer can be found and rented at all of the big carrental companies. I had it once from Alamo. But it`s already some time ago.

The Mercedes GLS-class can be recommended when a luxury SUV is requested. Btw there is now a Maybach SUV available as a competitor to the Rolls Royce-and Bentley-SUVs ;)

I don`t think that the Maybach SUV is already available in US. As per my information it can be bought in Europe only. below I`ve posted a pic of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4matic. An impressive car. ;)
