Guaranteed Cars

Post by Hedge5 » Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:35 am

When I have booked a "compact SUV" at Enterprise I get as an example the information of a "Ford Echo Sport" or similar. As I don`t want to get this vehicle which I feel to be a terrible one what can I do in order to get the echo sport? Do you folks have any idea?

A large company like Enterprise will typically have numerous vehicles available in the compact SUV class. Therefore the models shown on the websiete are generally just examples of what you could get, not necessarily what you would get.
So if you prefer something other than a Ford EcoSport companies like Enterprise will generally try to accommodate you. If you don`t rent at a let`s say large airport choices may be more limited. But again the EcoSport is just one of many models Enterprise typically have in this class, so chances of getting one aren't any higher than any other model. Hope this hepls @Hedge5.

Fully agree on what @Bentley is exlpaining. It`s normal practice that a model indicated is not guaranteed. The only exception is when you book a guaranteed model which usually costs a little more.

Correct @Airport . Guaranteed models can be mainly found in the upper categories. Rental rates for them are of course higher.

I like to book guaranteed cars. Most of the time when I rent for fun in order to drive a specific model. Sixt for example offers the BMW 8 series which be one of my next rentals. ;)

I like booking of guaranteed cars as I prefer rental cars in order to experience cars which I have never driven. Therefore it`s important to get a car which I really would like to drive.

I've just booked a Ford Mustang GT Convertible from Sixt. The Mustang is a guaranteed car. I`ll plan a one week holiday in Florida during month of april 22. For sure it will become a great time together with my girlfriend and the rented Mustang. :D
