From my point of view all car rental companies can be much more flexible in granting longer grace periods. It would not cost much money for them.

Presently traffic has decreased due to Covid. therefore the grace period is no more so important. For sure it will change again. Hopefully soon.

Absolutely true. The shutdown has changed the situation tremendously. Nobody actually is interested in the grace period of a car rental company. The car rental return can be much better planned now.

I can plan my trips in a way that the grace period never was an issue. Finally I`m satisfied with the grace period offerd by Avis.

Fully understand your position. But for other renters this is frequently a challenge to arrive in time at the car rental return due to whatever reasons.

With Avis I`d never had any problem with the grace period for the rental car return. Perhaps it depends also on the location.

For sure the location is an important factor. I`m also never had any discussions with Avis personel on the grace period. They always were rather flexible if necessary.
