Re: Recent Rentals
I`ve never driven such a Hyundai i10. It would be interested to try one. Perhaps I`ll rent one during my next holidays in Europe.

I was out of town for valentine’s day weekend i did enterprise you click we pick and was assigned a 2024 Jeep Compass latitude with 33,000 miles i returned it with 34,000 here’s pros: it was fuel efficient i returned it with a the same fuel level as i picked it up it was full it replaced the oil consuming 2.4l tigershark with the 2.0l turbo it was cheap cons: the transmission still doesn’t shift smoothly. The car is underpowered it’s cheaply built. A smoker had used it i noticed cigarette burns on the interior and the signature smell atleast there wasn’t leftover ash Overall it was good for valentine’s day weekend the site kept wanting to force me to upgrade to an expedition or tahoe which are too big. The hard shifting is a common problem with the Jeep compass

Smoking in a rental car is terrible!
I really hate it.
Thank you @Lauderdalerick for your report. Obviously the Jeep Compass you received was close to a nightmare.

The sad thing is it’s not uncommon i’ve rented multiple jeep compass’ they always have issues they’re awful cars transmission problems oil consumption even electrical issues there’s obviously much better cars out there like toyota rav4 honda crv nissan rogue mazda cx-5 are all much better cars the compass served its purpose for valentines day weekend i didn’t really want a big gas hog suv like tahoe suburban expedition expedition max they apparently can’t give them away so they really want people to upgrade to them i guess it’s due to gas prices i saw one lady return her expedition citing it as being too big i told the lady counter i didn’t want anything that’s how i ended up with the compass.

Honestly speaking I`m not sure whether Mazda CX-5 would have been the better choice. Interior is of poor quality , engine doesn`t provide too much power. Suspension offers low comfort. That`s what I experienced during my last rental of a Mazda.Lauderdalerick wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 3:58 pmThe sad thing is it’s not uncommon i’ve rented multiple jeep compass’ they always have issues they’re awful cars transmission problems oil consumption even electrical issues there’s obviously much better cars out there like toyota rav4 honda crv nissan rogue mazda cx-5 are all much better cars the compass served its purpose for valentines day weekend i didn’t really want a big gas hog suv like tahoe suburban expedition expedition max they apparently can’t give them away so they really want people to upgrade to them i guess it’s due to gas prices i saw one lady return her expedition citing it as being too big i told the lady counter i didn’t want anything that’s how i ended up with the compass.
I`d prefer the Compass. My opinion only.

I was out of town for a few days helping my grandmother who is now in hospice care move into a memory care center i had an avis rental credit as part of the centuroin Amex Platinum card and i booked a 7 seater standard elite suv 7 seater Jeep grand Cherokee l or similar but that wasn’t available so they gave me a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier with 30,614 miles on it. I loved it it was surprisingly peppy the 5.3l v8 immidiately got up to 30 mph after one turn i loved that the mirrors fold in when you lock it and can automatically fold as needed it was surprisingly efficient 18-22 mpg i averaged. There is one thing to consider the tahoe has 3 engine choices 5.3l v8 aka pushrod ls 6.2l v8 l87 currently under recall for engine failure and there’s a torquey 3.0 duramax diedel that can achieve up to 30 mpg. Many rental companies are dumping the 6.2 l87 v8 equipped suvs due to failure https://www.cbsnews.com/news/gm-recall- ... lure-risk/. I’m planning on getting my tahoe with the 3.0i6 duramax diesel engine https://youtu.be/X09VgiE6IK8?si=kXHl6QzFzwQE27c0
