In general a one-way rental opens up lots of travel possibilites. As an example of the benefits I would like to mention that you can always relocate to a new city. Or in case a flight is cancelled or any last minute flight is much too expensive you can use a one-way rental at short term notice. Cross country road trips are much easier and extended travels or vacations are possible as well.

A lot of car rental companies offer one-way rentals without any additional fee. I.e. at Sixt one-way rentals are free of charge within the Sixt locations in Florida, California and Nevada.

Do other car rental companies offer the same concept i.e. free one-way rentals between certain locations?

Never heard about it. I am aware only about an additional fee which is applied for one way rentals.

There is a big difference in terms of the rental rate between one-way and return at same location at Avis as I have checked out in the following example with the Full Size class:
