Thanks @tramper for your suggestions. But you don`t answer my question. During the booking process obviously I cannot see which car I will get for a booked Mystery Car ?

my recommendation is tu use the Sixt App. Supported by such an app you can see 30 minutes in advance of the pick up time which car you will finally get. I personally don`t think that there is any other possibilty @Drivein :)

The Sixt App can be recommended as it is really helpful in any respect. And it is correct that half an hour in advance you can see which car you will get for your rental. Any change might be possible anyway depending on the flexibilty of the cars available at the counter and the staff on duty ;)

Does anyone see a real chance to get the Mercedes C-Class or preferable E-Class when booking a Sixt Mystery Car rate only? Or do I better book the Premium Mystery Car? @Up2021 is reporting about such cases that a customer booked the Mystery Car and could leave the station driving an E-Class.

To be on the safe side I would recomend to book the Sixt Premium Mystery Car when you want to get mandatorily an E-Class car. There is of course also a good chance to receive such a car based on a booked cheaper Mystery Car instead of the Premium version, however the Premium version will more or less guarantee the E-Class. For the smaller C-Class the Mystery Car booking is sufficient and no premium upgrade necessary. But it is better to contact the appropriate station before pick up of the car.

Based upon a Sixt Mystery Car booking a C-Class is always realistic especially when you clearly tell the RSA about your wish. To get an E-Class I think you need a lot of luck. :D

Just found a Sixt Mystery Car at San Diego airport at short term notice for $55.42 | day and the Premium Mystery Car for $67.47 | day. The difference betwenn the rates is not as big as I thought originally. For both offers the LDW and the CDW are already included in the rental rate with a reduced liabilty of $0. Therefore I think that these are reasonable prices which Sixt offers.

Is it a over the weekend rental or during normal working days?

It is no weekend rental I was talking about. It is Tuesday to Thursday in first week of February. ;)

By the way the nice thing of Sxit mystery Car is that unlimited miles are already included in the rental rate. For comparison reasons i.e. in the category of Sixt Sports & Luxury cars there are only 350 miles included. ;)
