Just found the Sixt Plus Car Subscription product. Sixt offers 16 categories of cars for longterm rental.
A lot of services are always included in the monthly fee:

- The car is of course fully registered and ready to drive from day one
- All maintenance and wear and tear costs
- The cancellation of the subscription can be done on a monthly basis by simply returning the vehicle.
- There is a basic free mileage package always included
- The categories offered by Sixt represent the premium fleet of Sixt. You get the latest model year.
- Booking must be made one day in advance only.

It`s an alternative to buying or leasing a car. The rental rates especially in terms of leasing must be compared in more detail.

Correct. However on top of that if someone needs a car on short term notice the rental option has an important advantage: there is no delivery time but an immediate availability. Leasing usually needs a waiting period.

To be a little more precisely, you get always the current or last model year. In case you are a little more lucky according to Sixt you`ll get even a brand new car.

The monthly rental rate for a premium sedan like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is $ 849 per month. A Toyota RAV 4 you get for $ 569 per month. These figures can be used as a basis for a calculation and/or comparison with a leasing fee.

I`ve checked out the leasing offer at the Mercedes website for a C300 sedan. The allowed annual mileage is 12,000 miles.
Based on a Down Payment of $4,160 , an amount due at signature of $5,707 and the adjusted capitalized cost of $37,440, the lease fee for a duration of 36 months is $452/month. In comparison the Sixt monthly rental rate of $849 per month makes sense as I must not keep the car for 36 months and have the option of a monthly cancellation. Also no capital is necessary which I`ve to pay upfront.

Great information. I need a new car however due to the pandemic situation I`d like to still wait a few months. As an interim solution the Sixt Plus Car subscription might be a good solution to bridge this time period. Thanks for the information guys. I`ll check it out what Sixt offers.

I`ve booked for the month of February a VW Jetta class car subscription from Sixt. The monthly rental rate is $ 515 per month plus an enrollment fee for the first month of $ 199. It depends on my private situation whether I`ll book the month of March as well. Decision will be made during February then.




A comparable offer from Enterprise rent a car for the month of February is $2,017.19 per month.





Finally a great deal for a longterm rental car which Sixt actually offers.

Great comparison @Superbowl2020. Many thanks for that! This shows perfectly the advantage of the Sixt Plus Car Subscription for a minimum one month car booking. The longer the rental duration the more favourable the Sixt offer. Great!
