Avis presently provides rental fans with an attractive offer. If the option Pay Now is used during the booking process the customer gets a free upgrade and up to 30 % off. From my point of view something very interesting what Avis actually offers in US.

Why not using at Avis the pay now option? I don`t see any disadvantage. Cancellation is still possible. Therefore only some money can be saved

I learned that the pay now promo is usually also linked to other promo actions of Avis USA. An example ist the actual Avis Winter Escape Sale which has as prerequisite the application of the pay now option during the booking process.

From my point of view the Avis US Pay Now action is not limited to US only. As far as I know this promo is applied in other countries as well.

What does Pay Now mean in terms of cancellation? No more possible FOC?

No, you can still cancel taking into account some restrictions.
For pre-paid bookings, you have to midnight on the day you make the booking to cancel for free. Go beyond that but stay outside of 3 days of your pick up time and you'll be refunded minus I think $50. If you go within 3 days, you'll be deducted 3x the daily rental price or forfeit refund - whichever is the cheapest.
