There is actually at AVIS the possibilty to save a lot of money with a one-way car rental to or from the airport. Based on rates starting at $9.99 the customer can enjoy exploring town from the freedom of an own rental car. The car can be kept for up to 12 hours including a free tank of gas and 150 free miles. Both directions are possible: from thursday to friday pick up at the airport and drop off downtown, from sunday to monday pick up downtown and drop off at the airport. Again, for $9.99 only!

At the moment Avis in US has the most advanced ideas for promotions. Example see above which is less expensive than using a cab. My opinion only.

Just checked, the Avis rates for the one way airport car rentals are still valid.

Very cheap, I think. For a 12 hours rental and 150 miles included it`s a great deal what Avis offer.

I`m not so impressed by this offer. 150 miles are not too much. 250 miles should be the minimum from my point of view. Perhaps Avis will improve.
