Many car rental companies post a maximum age for renters. Alternatively some rental companies apply a mark up for older renters. There are lots of different rules which apply. I open this thread in order to find information concerning the conditions and/or situation for older renters.

Any support and first hand knowledge from you guys would be highly appreciated.

I`m renting now for almost 20 years however I`ve never experienced any customer who has been turned away for being too old. That`s what I know. :D

Honestly speaking I`m not sure whether there is any limit in age for a rental in US. I only know such a rule and additional costs for rentals in Europe.

Yeah, same opinion. If you are a senior driver you may be required to purchase an inclusive rate rather than looking for a basic rate or using insurance provided by a credit card.

As far as I know most rental companies in the USA do not apply maximum limits on rentals. In case there is any limit it may vary between car rental companies. So called senior drivers age 70 and older are usually requested to call or contact the rental location directly to find out what the age limits are. ;)

In Europe, Africa and in the South Pacific there are some rental car locations which have age restrictions on their rentals.
