Avis US Winter Escape Sale

Actually Avis US offers the Avis Winter escape Sale. This means a free upgrade on any booking for a car rental in US. On top of that Avis offers up to 30 % off when using the pay now option during the booking process.

This seems to be a great deal what Avis US offers at the moment. Is the free upgrade applicable for all vehivle categories?

The free upgrade is valid for all vehicle categories of Avis US. But the option pay now must be used as already mentiond by @Boston07 ;)

In order to complete the information, also extra options lead presently to extra savings at Avis US. There are discounted protection package defined by Avis. They are combined with savings of up to 15 %.
This concerns the following packages:
-Protection & Safety Package; this includes "Cover The Car" and "Cover Roadside Issues".
-Ultimate Protection Package; this includes "Cover The Car" and "Cover My Liability" and "Cover Roadside Issues".
-Data Saver Package; this covers "Satellite Radio" and "Hands-Free Navigation".

For the Protection & Safety Package Avis USA offers instead $16.99/day now $15.29/day, for the Ultimate Protection Package Avis USA asks instead for $31.54/day now for only $29.84/Day and finally for the Data Saver Package instead $24.98/day now $22.48/day. These are not the highest savings but I think better than nothing or paying the full price.

Just checked an example out for a shot term booking at JFK. Avis offers the category Economy a Ford Fiesta or similar with automatic transmission for a daily rental rate of $ 136.59 including airport fee. Avis indicates that this rental rate means a total saving of $11.00 .

Please don`t forget the free of charge upgrade in your calculation. Avis US offers in the frame of this Winter escape sale the FOC upgrade PLUS discount. ;)

In this Winter Escape Sale of Avis US the discounts applied for the protection packages mentioned by @chopper are somehow ridicules. Nothing very spectacular.
