Can`t find any location yet offering the Mystery Car.

Don`t think so. Checked out several locations and dates but couldn`t find any Mystery Car offer. Looks as Avis doesn`t offer any Mystery Cars in general for the time being.

You can still book a mystery car from Avis in Canada. Rental rates are terrible. Just checked out an offer for 3 days Fri, Aug 07 to Mon, Aug 10. The price for this rental period for an Intermediate SUV would be C$219.27, the rental rate for the mystery car is C$810.00 Totally crazy such a rental rate from Avis!

I don`t know which customers Avis want to reach with such a high rental rate for a Mystery Car? This is an absolute nonsense pricing.

Instead of the Mystery Car a booking of any car out of the Select Series is better. And rental rate is almost the half only as can be easily seen @Trucker .

I don't think that the rental rate mentioned by @Trucker is the normal rate for a Mystery Car from Avis. They seem to offer something which they don't want to sell. Otherwise such a price doesn't make any sense.

Or they don`t have sufficient cars for this category available. I don`t think that there is anything what Avis don`t want to sell.

Fully agree on that. During the last weeks it was almost impossible to find any offer from Avis in terms of the Mystery Car. They obviously don`t have cars available for this category as they have reduced fleet size.

I wonder why Avis doen`t have another strategy. Cheap offers would attract customers to rent cars i.e. for long distances in order to save miles on the own cars. The Mystery Car was always an option for cheap and attractive rentals. For me the actaul strategy is wrong.

Not only the Mystery Car from Avis but also the other categories suffer tremendously under Copvid-19. Therefore Avis advertise now with a safety pledge. They promis to take cleanliness and disinfection on a new level. In order to disinfect each rental car Avis partner with Lysol which should be the number one disinfectant brand in the US. The scientists and germ experts of this company have helped to shape the disinfection protocols at Avis. Avis now send each receipt to the email address on file. On top of that a paper receipt will be available if requested. The return agents are wearing masks. Then further cleaning will take place after the vehicle is moved to the Avis cleaning stations. This measurment should ensure that multiple cleanings are done for each rental vehicle. I think that it`s an absolute must what Avis is doing now.
