Economy Car Enterprise
Never tried to rent from Enterprise a car out of the Economy class. What can I expect to get? Which cars do Enterprise have in their economy fleet?

I don`t think that the Economy class at Enterprise is the most attractive one. There are cars like the Mitsubishi Mirage or similar which are waiting for you. For sure the more attractive and newer cars you`ll get from Sixt. On top of that a booking on the
Sixt deal page will offer you a 20% lower rental rate.

Wow, cool, Mitsubishi. I like such small cars as they are very dynamic and it`s much easier to find a parking. Also a very good fuel efficiency should not be forgotten when talking about Economy car rentals. The Mitsubishi Mirage is somehow standard in the Enterprise category Economy Car. So it`s always a good choice, low rental rate and acceptable rental car from Enterprise.

Don`t forget that the Economy class has lots of advantages when driving in downtown areas which are always crowded.Traffic there is very high and parking spaces are very rare. The worst thing which you can make is driving in such areas with a SUV. The economy class makes for me a lot of sense when I`m on business or also on holidays in such downtown areas.

Frequently it is cheaper to book a any other class than an Economy Class as it is much cheaper. It van be clearly seen in the following example of a one day rental at DTW. The daily rental rate for an Economy class car is $99.16. A Full Size car is offered for $65.53. In principle this makes absolutely no sense as far as the rental rate is concerned.

Thanks for this interesting clarification @Cowling . I didn`t know that there is a difference in rental rates in the opposite direction.

Might depend on different service fees and/or taxes at different locations.
Usually economy cars tend to be small in terms of rental cars. To be more precise economy cars not only from Enterprise are the second smallest type of car you can rent. They have especially an advantage when you drive mostly in cities. They are also suitable for shorter trips when there are only four passengers. For longer trips I wouldn`t recommend more than two or maximum three people.

Upps, a Misubishi Mirage is not my dream I would book Intermediate, which is usually cheaper than Economy and offers better cars.ACDC wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 9:07 amI don`t think that the Economy class at Enterprise is the most attractive one. The pricing policy of Enterprise based on the example of @Cowling doesn`t have any rational for me. Why can I get the Luxury Car class for $72.95 per day but for Economy I`ve to pay $99.16 the day???

I wouldn`t look for any rational. You`ll never find any. More important what you have to pay. Use the chance to book a cheap Luxury class when it`s offered instead of a more expensive Economy category. Very simple!
