Re: Avis Preferred
Welcome here in the forum @BenH.
Very interesting to read about your experience as a Presidents Club member.
The statement of Avis customer service like "bad luck" is simply stupid. Either they offer attractive benefits or not. This has nothing to do with luck. Do you rent frequently from Avis @BenH ?

I can confirm what @BenH is saying. My experience is also that Avis Preferred is not worth the time to register. My opinion only!

I don’t rent from Avis thst often because they’re not the most honest rental company I’ve been out of town since Friday and was doing a road trip. I reserved a standard suv Ford Edge or similar but i was downgraded to intermediate suv Mazda Cx5 or similar but Avis gave me a beat up piece of junk Jeep Compass trailhawk with 47,769 miles on it. It’s got bald tires a slipping transmission and an oil change sticker that says it was due at 19k miles

It’s ashame because Pre Covid Pandemic Avis used to actually actually be as good as enterprise infact they used to be my backup when enterprise sold out of cars I would go with Avis and used to get a free upgrade even if the car class i reserved was available. I think Avis lost some revenge during covid and they’ve had to cut costs which could be why their cars are junky. It was still a good experience at the counter it was super easy they didn’t even upsell me any extras like insurance because somehow they already know i use statefarm my personal insurance to protect my rentals and to recieve my car i had to put in my credit card. Even exchanging was easy because before I recieved this Compass. I had to go several times back to the counter to exchange because they first gave me a car with a deflated tire that had the windshield wipers up which indicates at most airport rental companies that a car is out of service then they gave me several that had no keys and then several with a recall i was about to take one of them but the gate attendant stoppedFreightliner wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 12:11 pmI fully support your opinion.Lauderdalerick wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 5:08 amYeah Avis is a strange rental company when I rented this compass they had over 30 cars that were out of commission.Airbrusher wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 3:34 amWith Avis my experiences are the same @Lauderdalerick. Me and said it has a recall. I just took this Compass because I didn’t want to waste anymore time trying to get a perfect vehicle. I just wanted to start my vacation.

I never accept such a behaviour of a rental company. As I´ve made same experience with Avis during one of my last rentals I finally left.Lauderdalerick wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 1:14 pm

Most of the time I go now to Sixt and I was treated there always like a real customer.
