The answer is quite easy: they buy large quantities from car rental comanies. This allows them to offer lower rental rates.

Don`t know them, but was already going with rentalcars.com. Was working well and got a good result with Avis at that time.

All the big car rental companies offer permanently any discounted rentals. I don`t think that someone must go to a small car rental in order to find discounts. There is absolutely no need.

Ok, I wouldn`t go to small car rental companies. But I`m open to use brokers for i.e. holiday rentals somewhere in the world. They provide a clear and simple picture of the best offers for each location in the world.

Yeah, using brokers for holiday rental is efficient and helps to save some money. But for national rentals I book directly online. Usually Avis for business and Alamo or Enterprise for private rentals.
