Sixt accepted Credit Cards

Does anyone know which credit cards are accepted by Sixt? Would be helpful

As far as I know Sixt does not accept any Visa Electron Cards, Electronic Use Only Cards, Maestro Cards, Prepaid Cards, checks and of course no Cash. But I think that this practice should be valid for mor or less all car renatl companies, as far as I know.

I read somewhere that Sixt may accept debit cards with available funds. However this statement is valid only at selected locations and at Sixt's sole discretion with two forms of government-issued ID plus some other conditions which have to be met. An example of such other conditions to be met is that the renter must present a return airline ticket or a roundtrip itinerary.

Please note that all the mentioned funds will not be available during the rental period.
And for long term rentals, the authorization taken is much higher as for normal rentals. The amount which must be authorized is equal to the amount due for the first 28 days plus (as usual) $200. In case that the authorization amount for the rented vehicle is even higher then this higher amount is valid.

To answer the original question Sixt accepts all major credit cards like American Express, Eurocard/MasterCard, Visa, Diners Club, Airplus, Discover and JCB.

An additional information, China Union Pay is also accepted by Sixt. However it must be co-branded with one of the accepted payment methods. Further the renter must be also the owner of the presented means of payment which he presents at the beginning of the rental. It might happen that for the payment with the credit card may require the credit card PIN. And of course the credit card must provide available credit.

I can not imagine that any renter had already any problem in terms of acceptance of a credit card at Sixt. They always will find a solution for any of such issues.
