Yeah agreed the Cherokee Grand Cherokee Wrangler and Gladiator are pretty good vehicles to drive. The compass and renegade are absolutely junkers.Route66 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 6:05 amI avoid the Compass whenever I can. This car is neither comfortable nor very reliably. My experience only!Lauderdalerick wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 1:20 pmI’ve driven the Jeep Compass before. It’s a model i often try and avoid.![]()

The Jeep Compass is one of my least favorite suvs second to Jeep Renegade Nissan Rogue sport Mitsubishi Outlander sport Ford Escape and Chevrolet Equinox. This Compass was typical avis poorly maintained it had bald tires and missed several oil changes according to the sticker it had its last service in October 23 2020 it was due at 14,949 miles but when I returned it had 47,769 miles. I’ve driven newer Jeep Compass’ they all have some kind of issues. Most common is Transmission like it’s always slipping I’ve experienced this on anything from Brand new compass’ to beat up high mileage ones. Not a very good car. I also ran a carfax on this compass and found no service records reported. Point still stands the Compass is a major piece of crap.Route66 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 12:26 pmHaha, absolutely same opinionLauderdalerick wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 7:49 am

I also experienced rental cars from Avis which were obviously poorly maintained. i don`t understand such a business practice. In the meantime I rent from Enterprise or Sixt depending on the location and purpose.

I was out of town for 5 hours i had to fly to my destination and pick up a rental car to drive something home from ikea and chose to try Hertz Managers special and ended up with a 2020 Jeep Compass Latitude with 28,700 miles i picked it up with 28,473 miles on it the compass was awful it was underpowered and the transmission shifted rough and slipped and jerked and lurchex the vehicle made a lot of road noise from a shot wheel bearing and i found the interior small and cramped and the electrical system jerked alot and had the equivalent of an electrical seizure and started glitching operating the wipers and lights and horn went crazy. I moved to a really remote town on an island where there’s not really any big box store and i have to take a car ferry drive two hours then fly on atleast two planes to a town with an ikea to return or pickup furniture
