Great pictures , thank you @Lauderdalerick for the impressions. The rental car from Hertz seems to be in poor condition. My last rental from Hertz was also disappointing. In the meantime I prefer to pay a little more in order to get a newer car. Therefore I go to Sixt and I was very happy with my last two rentals.

Totally agree @Freightliner i’m also a consultant for a marketing research firm that does surveys for Manheim many rental companies such as Enterprise holdings has completely cut out of buying used vehicles from auction or are only buying really new slightly used same with Sixt i find hertz is buying the most used vehicles the chip shortage has basically gone but i find hertz corporation is just buying the most used vehicles in a quantity form they want to have the most selection but are just buying anything this jeep compass is no different i ran the vin and discovered it was traded in to a dealership the dealer determined it wouldn’t fit their lot so they sent to manheim wholesale auto auction I suspect my last rental compass being an auction vehicle it sat in the elements and either the battery is completely shot or the alternator is not charging the battery. I noticed a dealer sticker on this vehicle and hertz only took delivery on March 28 2023

Obviously Hertz doesn't have sufficient money for a normal operation. I expect new cars from a rental company.
All others I try to avoid.

Correct!

Recently I had a rental from Hertz in Europe. The rentalcar over there was not brand new but acceptable. I have got a Volvo XC40 in Paris CDG.

My last rental from Budget was a Toyota Camry. Service at the counter was ok however the car had 41k miles on the clock. I prefer newer cars when I rent one. :x
