You have to pay an extra charge for rental pick up from the airport @Roadtrack.
My recommendation is that you take the Skybus from the airport to downtown. If you decide to take a car then go rent it from the rentals near Queen Victoria Market. It is only a 3 mins walk of Queen Vic Market to Elizabeth Street where they are located.

Usually I stick to the international brand that has branches at airport. So I can checkout prices. Car selcection is alss very impressive there.

Anyway it can be really hard to find parking in the city of Melbourne. I would not use a car there. My opinion.

I would never rent a cor for visiting Melbourne only. Much too expensive, no parking available as in all big cities in the world.
