Dollar Manager's Special

Someone has already some experinece with the Dollar Manager`s Special? With which models can I get when I book this special? I think that the Manager`s Special is a comparable category to the different mystery cars of other car rental companies. I would like to try it for the first time but I don´t know whether it`s worth the money. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

The rental rate depends on the location and time. I have added an example for Philadelphia airport where the rate is identical with the Economy, Compact and Mid-Size class. But by experience you have a real chance to get also something out of Standard or Full-Size class. This is not possible if you book one of the first three categories. The guarantee is Compact or larger.

But by experience you have the chance to get also an Impala from Dollar rent a car for a booked Manager`s Special. This justifies some dollars more.

Actually Dollar is advertising rental cars for the summer holidays. They obviously are already planning a life and business after a period of Covid-19.
Let's hope for the best that Dollar is right.

Hello friends!

As a newcomer I would like to state first of all that the Manager`s Special from Dollar is for me in future an absolute nogo. I`ve tried it once and I`ve got a Compact Class car in form of a Nissan versa. This is not what I was looking for. From now on I`ll book for a few dollars more minimum Full-Size class. Then it is guaranteed to get a much better car without any risk.

It's simply the wrong name. A Manager's Special which never can be really attractive for real managers makes no sense. What have the marketing guys of Dollar rent a car thought when they have invented this category? I don't think that a real answer exists.

Thanks for reporting this experience. I confirm that a Full Size booking will guarantee better cars.
