National rent a car poor selection at msy in emerald aisle

Post by Lauderdalerick » Sun Jun 07, 2020 4:25 am

I rent from National and enterprise frequently but I find that at certain times of year national has alot of junk in particular the emerald aisle. 1. I find that soletimes the emerald aisle is filled with the typical junk such as equinox frontier rogue and rogue sport armada qx80 and dodge journey. 2. I find that certain national locations don’t have a good selection the location that I find that has a dismal selection is Louis Armstrong New Orleans international airport in New Orleans Louisiana. In particular New Orleans because the national location at New Orleans is filled with Dodge Grand Caravans of all different colors I don’t mind the grand caravan infact I think it’s a meh vehicle but not many people like them and when other cars besides grand caravans pull up at msy airport emerald aisle they’re typically basic vehicles with cloth interior or junky ones like Nissan Frontier Nissan Rogue rogue sport armada qx80 and Dodge Journey. I’ve seen a Toyota corolla parked in the executive aisle at msy airport. If you need a car at New Orleans I recommend you either rent at enterprise or even better take a taxi cab to your hotel and walk to the enterprise on canal street or rent at their locations on barrone street or Carrolton avenue this is if you guys are ever in New Orleans Louisiana and need a rental car.

Fully agree an what you`re saying. Have you already tried the one-way airport car rentals from Avis.

MSY is included in the list of participating locations. Even gas is inluded in a rental rate of $9.99
The only disadvantage is that days of availability are very limited.Thursday and Friday for pick up at MSY and drop off at downtown location. Sunday or Monday for pick up a car at a downtown location and drop off at the airport.

It really sounds as National place all their junk cars in the Emerald Aisle  Then I would avoid in future. To pay for the types of cars as mentioned @Lauderdalerick is not worth the money. I rent rather frequently also from Alamo. For sure they are not market leader but usually ok. :D

Such a surprise can not happen at Sixt. They have cars with very low mileage on the odometer and at each location I`ve seen an impressive selection of models. They are not cheap but they offer good service and quality. My opinion only. ;)

You know there is a difference between Avis and Budget. So I would try Avis and if dates fit perhaps the one-way airport car rentals.

I’ve rented from avis before at Baltimore Washington thurgood marshall international airport that was a good experience but not as good as enterprise i tried renting at avis’s location on market street in Philadelphia inside 30th streeet station that was a horrible experience the workers were rude and lied saying they had a car but they didn’t and kept saying every excuse in the book to not give me a car after that i vowed to never use budget and avis in the United states again but i have had a great experience renting from budget and avis car rentals in kignston Jamaica especially at the kingston norman manley international airport

Strange behavior of Avis and Budget staff. I don't like Budget. But with Avis I've not yet had any bad experience here in Europe. You should complain at the management @Lauderdalerick .
